Naltrexone to help quit smoking

Can naltrexone help people quit smoking?

Naltrexone is a long acting opiate antagonist. It is an expensive drug and often used to treat addiction to opiates and alcohol.

As far as smoking concerned, the drug has been tried; the results revealed that it was not at all effective as an aid for smoking cessation. The best method of quitting smoking is still cold turkey. Everything else is a gimmick designed to scam you of your hard earned money.
